Versions — what is current?
Every ZYAD mod has two parts: the Workshop mod (what players download) and the server module, which you get for free on our Discord. They belong together. This page tells you what is current and how to tell whether your server matches.

What the numbers mean
Every mod carries two numbers. It sounds more complicated than it is, and it saves you work:
| Number | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Version e.g. 1.0.0 |
The ordinary version number for changelogs and support. It goes up with every change, including small bug fixes. |
| PROTOCOL e.g. 1 |
The interface between the Workshop mod and the server module. It only goes up when the way those two talk to each other changes. As long as this number stays the same you can update the Workshop mod without touching the server module. |
In short: Version answers “is it new?”, PROTOCOL answers “do these fit together?”. Only the second question can break your server.
Check your own build
Three ways, whichever is closest to hand:
In game
Open the ZYAD Admin Center (default key Home). The footer reads
ZYADCore 1.0.0 | Server 1.0.0 | zyadmods.de. If something does not match, a red
line right below the heading tells you why.
In the server log
Shortly after boot, ZYAD/Core/logs/ZYADCore.log contains a line like
Server-Module: core 1.0.0, events 1.0.0, trader 1.0.0. On a mismatch a
VERSIONS-FEHLSTAND: … line follows right below it.
In the dashboard
If you have set up analytics, your server reports its builds automatically shortly after every start (and again every few hours) — not while it is running, so an update you just installed will not show up until the next restart. Under Servers you then see at a glance what each of your servers is running and what needs updating — handy if you look after several. Without analytics everything else works exactly the same; you just miss this one overview.
When something does not match
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Server module missing | There is no ZYAD server PBO on the server at all. Download it from our Discord and put it with your server addons. Without it nothing happens in game — no crash, but no function either. |
| Server module outdated / version mismatch |
Steam updated the Workshop mod, the server module has not caught up yet. Grab the current
server PBO from our Discord, replace it, restart the server. Remember the copies if
you keep the PBOs directly in addons/. |
| Module “disabled” | Not an error: the module is listed under DisabledModules in your
server_config.json. Remove the entry to switch it back on. |
